About StillMotion
StillMotion does one thing, and does it well: it turns a still photo into a real, downloadable video clip. No account, no upload to a server, no watermark, no catch.
We built it as a single-purpose tool on purpose. Instead of bundling dozens of unrelated utilities into one bloated app, StillMotion focuses entirely on one job — photo to video — so it can do that job faster, cleaner, and more reliably than a generic do-everything converter.
You can add a cinematic Ken Burns motion too: a slow zoom in, a slow zoom out, or a gentle pan left or right, rendered frame-by-frame on your own device so the clip drifts instead of sitting perfectly still.
Under the hood, StillMotion usesffmpeg.wasm, a WebAssembly build of the industry-standard FFmpeg video engine, running entirely inside your browser tab. Your photo is loaded into memory, animated or looped for the duration you choose, and encoded into a real MP4 or WebM file — all on your own device. It is never uploaded, transmitted, or stored anywhere.
iPhone HEIC/HEIF photos are supported too: they're decoded locally using libheif-js, another WebAssembly library, before being handed off to the video encoder.
StillMotion is free to use and supported by tasteful, non-intrusive advertising.
